24 Hour Ten-Minute Play Event
or "A Play in a Day"
This event featured artists who came together for twenty-four hours in order to complete the process of creating a ten-minute play. Playwrights, Directors, Actors: wrote, rehearsed, and performed seven plays in coordination with California Art Council's 'Art Day'.
All aspects of the process were decided randomly by a drawing out of a hat:
Playwrights received the 'theme' on the night of Oct 5th and wrote the play overnight.
Playwrights drew the name of their director from a hat the next morning.
Directors drew the actors from a hat and a 'prop' that was to be incorporated in each play.
